The Creation of Coney Island
From Gravesend to Amusement Parks:
Committee Description
At the turn of the century, Coney Island, a land named after an rabbit infestation, was a hotbed for the innovative, the bizarre and the corrupt. Rife with greedy landowners and false elections, it’s a wonder how Coney Island not only survived but became one of the most magically strange places in America.
